Advising is a priority in the Department of Geography. Undergraduate majors receive assistance from both a professional staff advisor and an assigned faculty advisor. Students are strongly encouraged to be active participants in our geography community through co-curricular organizations, research, and department-sponsored speakers and events.
Undergraduate advising in geography is the primary reponsibility of a full-time staff member, Jodi Vender. Jodi can assist current and prospective students with entry-to-major, scheduling, degree audits, and other academic issues.
Students whose primary major is geography also have an official faculty advisor; check the Penn State Academic Advising Portal to find your assigned advisor.
Dr. Lorraine Dowler is the Associate Head of Diversity, Equity, and includion, and Dr. Chris Fowler is the Associate Head of Undergraduate Programs.
