My name is Alejandra Bonilla Mena, and I am an urban and economic geographer. Prior to studying at Penn State, I received my MA in Urban Studies at the Latin American Faculty for Social Sciences, Quito-Ecuador, and my BA in Geography at the Pontifical Catholic University.
My work aims to contribute to a better understanding of the surging and implications of financialization processes related to city-making in Latin America. Methodologically I plan to use a comparative analysis, with a multi-scale and mixed-method approach.
